About the AAF

Jumpstart your career in advertising with the American Advertising Federation and the student chapter at Texas State University. The AAF has more than 200 chapters across the U.S. and 5,000+ student members. For student members, the AAF provides valuable insights into the worlds of advertising, connections and even job opportunities that will help propel your advertising career. For educators at a college or university, college chapter membership is the perfect way to make an impact on students at your school who are looking to dive into the advertising industry.

Established in 1905, the American Advertising Federation (AAF) is the only organization that includes members across all disciplines and career levels in advertising. Whether you're new to the fast-paced world of advertising or a seasoned professional, the AAF is for you. We're here to help you advance your career, build your connections and celebrate this ever-changing, amazing industry we work in.

The AAF is continually working to improve and better the industry we love. That’s why we provide our members with the tools and resources they need to empower themselves. President & social Media

Larissa Celeste

Raised in the rural area of Schertz, Texas, Larissa moved to the city life in Austin in order to gain an Associates degree in Communication Studies. After two years of hard work, she transferred to Texas State University to begin studying for her B.S. in advertising. Since moving to Austin, Larissa has won a “Be Different Offer Something Better” employee award and has joined a variety of scholarly societies similar to The International Dean’s List Society and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.  Outside of school, Larissa serves on the Austin Ad Fed board as an education chair. Nelson Smith

Growing up in Houston, Nelson was often caught doodling and daydreaming. After some time in junior college, Nelson moved on to Texas State where his creative passions have been realized through Advertising and Theatre. Since then he has been a Dean’s List recipient as well as retaining membership in academic honor societies. Greer Mansell

Greer is a senior getting her B.F.A. in Communication Design with a minor in Japanese. She has always been passionate about Ad club since day one. Greer is also involved in AIGA TXST and Ad 2 Austin as an Education Chair. She coordinates speakers and will be handling some of the tours. Internal Communications Chair

Taylor Blowers

Taylor is a rising Senior pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Advertising and Mass Communications with a minor in Leadership Studies. She has been a member of Ad Club since her freshman year in 2016. She’s a dedicated SJMC student as she is also an Ambassador, a prior 3rd place tenth district winner for AAF’s National Student Advertising Competition as Account Planner and Speaker, and Council of Scholars Dean’s List Recipient. Surprisingly, Taylor still has some free time in which she hangs out with friends, watches sports/movies and plays with her two pups. Contact Taylor at tjb131@txstate.edu.

Carmel Lujan

Carmel is a senior majoring in Advertising and Mass Communications with a minor in Business Administration. He has been a member of Ad club since the fall of 2017. He also is a member of the Hispanic Business Student Association and a part of the Alpha Delta Sigma honor society. In his free time he like drink coffee and play with Photoshop. Monica Dyess-Martinez

A Junior at Texas State University Majoring in Advertising with Mass Communication, a concentration in Digital Media, and a Sociology Minor.  Like many, she came into college having no idea what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. In came Ad Club, by the first meeting she was hooked.  Whenever Monica is free she enjoys going to coffee shops, writing, taking photos of friends, and watching an embarrassing amount of reality T.V. Kristofer Fajardo

Kris is a junior pursuing a degree in Advertising and Mass Communications with a minor in Computer Science. Kris transferred from McLennan Community College in his hometown of Waco, Texas to Texas State University in the fall of 2017.  He had full intentions to major in Communication Studies with a minor in Business, but ended up finding a true fascination for advertising. While Kris doesn’t have much free time, he tends to spend it by listening to and playing music, cooking, reading and video gaming with friends. Contact Kris at kjf62@txstate.edu.

Alice McDougall

Alice is a senior at Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Design and will be graduating in Spring of 2019. Original Alice is from a small town in England called Newcastle upon Tyne then later moving to Houston for the rest of her childhood. She has always had a big interest in art and design all throughout her life besides design she has a passion for painting, drawing, and photography. As well as being the ad club creative director she is also apart of Ad 2 Austin for the Education Chair representing Texas State.
